Frazada is the Spanish for “rug”. Traditional Peruvian frazada are still made in villages throughout highland areas, especially near Juilaca and Lake Titicaca. Woven from wool or alpaca using natural colours, the weave begins as twice the length of the finished rug. This is then cut in half and stitched together to make the final size. Use as rugs, bedcovers or throws to give an instant colour to the room! This stunning piece is woven into a purple stripe pattern, it’s slightly more muted than the over vibrant rugs.
